 Rocky Rivera-- a Bay Area rapper and a mother among many other things (a journalist, too!). Like so many artists, she has a really interesting story and is trying to alter the space that female rappers occupy in the current realm of hip hop.

Graffiti- Street Art

Questions for thought:

1. What do you think is the difference between graffiti, street art, and muralism?
2. Should graffiti be illegal? What about street art?
3. What kind of preconceptions do you have about graffiti artists? What kind of perceptions does mainstream media have? Why are those preconceptions/perceptions so prevalent? 
4. How does graffiti interact with public space? How is it effective/ineffective?
